What do your friends think of your Neo-Geo addiction?

When I got my original AES for $170, my friends looked at me funny.
When I bought my dedicated MVS cab for $600 (including shipping) they thought I was insane.
Most of them don't understand the hobby, the system or the games. They don't like to play the fighting games with me because they get stomped =)
So I'm trying to recruit my own "Neo-Disciples" around my area so I can have someone else to compete with.

my friends love the games...especially the fighting games...they think are real badass....most people though have never heard of the Neo..so I just tell them it was arcade hardware and they go wow that is cool...then occasionally i will meet someone that knows what a Neo is and they will be like "wow you got one of these. I always wanted one but could never afford it."

When I told one of my friends I was getting a NEO, his not-quite-exact words were "that old system with the big-ass games and joysticks the size of my lap?". That guy puzzles me. He claims to love games, has all kinds of old, rare games, like NES Tengen Tetris, and four Cabs., but he has almost 100 DC games, and only 6 of them are real (if that). So I try not to listen too much.

My friends? Mostly say I'm an idiot and I spend too much money.
Of course, I have this one friend... Who's INSANELY jealous of my Neo collection. Well, of my collection of gaming stuff in general. Can't leave that guy alone in my room, stuff disappears. I don't think I'll ever get my Xenogears back...

Maybe not about neo, but something else.
Their like, hey you enjoy it. Thats cool.
All of my friends are big Samurai Shodown nutzz.
They'll play me in that, or capcom games.
Not much else though.
Lust last month we setop a 25"MVS cab
in a friends apartment.
Sole purpose was for Sam Sho 1-4 & bustamove.
Maybe not about neo, but something else.

Although the number has slightly fallen these dayss, it is not difficult to see neo fan in my country.
Near my home,..there are 6 arcades and all of them has 3~10 neo games (mainly metal slug 3,mark of the wolves and kof 2000)
Now i'm in UK and I strongly feel that I'm maniac, has no friend to talk about neo here...
About the question...non of my friends say anything particular...because
basically we all share neo as part of our life. ^^

About all my friends that are into videogames are die hard 3-D gamers. They dont understand why I pay so much for (better) 2-D games. I dont even pay that much only bout the most 100 (cause im only 14 and just dont got the money)
My friends are only into whats cool, they think that Im wierd because I listen to the grateful dead and that I buy Neo-Stuff. I cant hang out with them a lot because of the job. I just don't really have enough money for AES stuff.

all my friends like my neo (ngh and mvs), they especially love twinkle star sprites mvs...we spent hours on it...only one of my friends hates neo except for metalslug, hes a capcom/3d whore. i have even convinced one of my friends to get a neogeo. <IMG SRC="smilies/glee.gif" border="0">

Other peep's are like wait you got an arcade cabinet in your house, arent those like $1000 dollars or something your rich...can't you just be satisfyed with a PSuX?
My boss think that I have a mental problem and he asked why I diden't just get a Tekken 2 cab If I wan'td a cab...duh.
And my otherfriend helped me build it over many beers and has come to appreaciate it over my ramblings babble and praise, but still won't play anything older than LB, oh well!
