Hey guys! I would just like to thank the guy who gave me the power input list. Thanks man. Secondly, i would like to thank Allied Electronics for having a voltage converter and regulater. Now to the fun part. For more pics just e-mail me @ Mike26@optonline.net

First i bought this "game adapter" thing from allied electronics, because it was designed for use on consoles for professionals. second i got the input voltage from this site. Then i soldered the wires together, and presto! i was done. I now could turn the system on! But wait, i couldnt get the screen to come on. So i looked back into the system, and found it was a PAL system from england!!!! OH SHIT@! So now i need to convert from 60 to 50 or vise versa. this suxs!!! more to come!!!

even a PAL system should give you some picture anyways. most likely b/w and possibly scrolling, but you should see something.. not just a black screen.

  • It won't work with the 110/120V used in the US -- try using a step-up converter.

it doesn't matter as long as the output voltage is right. he already said he's using a different power supply.

his post said something about the input voltage -- I guess I misread it.

UPDATE again!!

The question is still up. Could it be the ribbon cable? if so, where can i get one? Any ideas/help would be great. At the moment i am questioning whether to sell it or not. If i get some good prices then sure.

Mike - u can send me the pics if u like.

Make sure the voltage regulator is giving out a constant voltage of the right requirement AND you need at least the current stated - somewhere in the region of 1.2A is it not?

HI,

I haved the same problem, i bought the unit and went to turn it on ( before doing any mods aswell ) and i get the power light but nothing else. Im sure the power supply is ok, but as they give out dual voltages maybe theres a problem. ( maybe the led lights up with one voltage and the cd spins with the other ), i know this place sells a replacement kit for the cd units, apparently they do break down, but the replacement kit is supposed to fix the problem, if you give it a go let me know, in the mean tim ei have got another cd unit on the way and when it arrives i will test the power supply i get with the dead unit i have..

If anyone finds a solution for the dead machines id love to know, someone must have figured it out by now..
