I hear that prices of used large trucks and SUV's are really dropping as people dump them rather than buy the gas... And you negotiate the fuck out of the price.

I have thought about buying one just for hauling cabs and shit..... And still using my civic as a daily driver.....

Anyone else?

No need to get a large truck. Midsize Frontier or tacoma are more than capable at hauling full size cabs. 20 MPG highway isn't bad either.

yeah, but it seems that the smaller trucks have gone up in cost.... Or held steady...

If I bought one, I'd be running mostly highway.... So the gas millage would be a bit better... But I am sure the insurance costs more.....

I'm still using my dad's S-Ten..... With a cap... And that kinda sucks because you have loosen the cap to fit most cabs in on thier back. Then tighten it back down after you get the cab inside...

Also sucks that I have to drive 35 miles to pick up the truck... then 35 more to return it....

I've driven with 3 uprights standing up in my midsize before. Line them up side by side. Ratchet strap around all of them, then from the front bed hooks around the back cab, back hooks around the front cab creating a "X". Sturdy enough they become part of the truck and they will rock with the vehicle without falling over.

If you're main point of interest is moving cabs, why bother buying. Renting a small to midsized uhaul ranges from as low as 20-50 bucks + gas + a little bit for mileage. Most people won't be in need of a cab transport every month or more.

you could always get a small trailer and a hitch for your civic.

ive moved cabs in suvs before, and i like it because theyre safe from rain, but it kinda sucks since its usually a tough fit and then it still slides around. ive had good luck moving em with my dads dakota though. short bed.

I don't live in a metropolis... MOst of the cabs I'd buy are at least 200 mI AWAY....

Still, it is good to have a truck for lots of other reasons.

Just sold my Ram 1500. Barely was able to get what I had in it, and that wasn't a whole lot. If you buy, go for the one with all the goober options. They are selling for almost the same damn price as the ones with just the base package.
