Well I just got my Neo-Geo today. All my friends have gone home for dinner etc. Now I'm playing the arcade in various games and I keep running out of continues. I then realize I only get 4 credits per game.

When I bought the system off ebay the seller said there was a chip installed. I figured it was the one Bonuskun talks about in his faq. Well I guessed wrong. I hit start and c together on player 2 and nothing happened. I held start and hit c again nothing.

My question is, are there other chips besides the ones Jeff Kurtz installs? I assume there are many for a system over 10 years old. Also does anyone know how to use other chips?

Thanx

Ask the seller how to operate. Surely the seller should offer you that service.

I emailed the guy before I even posted here. He hasn't answered me back yet. I don't think he answers he email to often.

Does anyone know anyhting about other mod chips? I almost beat Fatal Fury Special with Duck King but L. Blood got lucky. Made me lick the floor and everything . . .I just need some more continues. Also playing as Ryo would be nice.

First of all, I think you should check you EFFECTIVELY have the debug bios installed on your neo...

Just open the neo and check. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

The seller wrote back to me the following.

"ill make sure to leave you positive feedback. the debug chip is really a
debug switch that you can see in the back. there is an index card with the
system instruction manual that shows what the switch position does. it
basically makes the cart and mvs cart to that there are unlimited continues
and the blood is red and not that funky green stuff. unfortunately to get
ryo in FF special you have to unlock him yourself. sorry the chip isnt all
it is cracked up to be. but it is mighty helpful in beating games.

and like i said i did not want to part with the system because it meant so
much to me. but school debts overweigh the value of the system. and i know
it is in good hands. enjoy"

Well I'm goning to try this switch. I'll report back Sunday.

before the debug Bios came out they used to stack Language Roms,

US MVS
Japan MVS
US Home
Japan Home

if you have a bank of 3 switch or 2 switches on the back you have one these. It toggles the power between the roms.

you do not get any of the features with the dip switches setting though since they do not have menus of course. The MVS chips are set to free play.
