Okay...I am seriously thinking of getting a Neo-Geo system. Yet, I don't know which one to get......People say get CART because no loading. Yet, its REALLY expensive!! Plus the games are alos expensive. Yet, the cart has KOF2000($350). Now the CD/CDZ isnt all that expensive. A cool $250 for the system and $25 to $80 for the games. Nice? not really.....Ive played both CD systems and they are slow as HELL!!!!! Especially in between fight .

So Im asking the NG experts: What system is better? Neo Geo Cart or Neo Geo Cd/CDZ?

VX, the buy in is steep, but I would go cart and get an MVS adapter. It will be tough on the pcketbook at first, but it is pretty smooth sailing from there on out.

May want to see what the new machine from !Arcade! is priced at too. Thta might be cheaper, it might not. Time will tell.

AES is your best choice.
I haven't touched my Neo CD for awhile.....
It's sitting in my living room by itself...

I use a CD system because I don't have enough moulah. I WOULD KILL FOR AN AES! GO with that beast, they are a helluva lot better. Some timeless classics like MOTW and MS3 and KOF2000 (that isnt really a classic) are only on Cart. If they were on CD, that would suck. Loading would take about 3 minutes, and it would have to miss so much animation and it would be soooooo f'in slow. Silent Scope, do you have a MS1 for CD?

home cart, i have one and i love it, pay the price its worth it! Some games that are really good you can get for cheap like samurai showdown 1 and 2. GET THE HOME CART SYSTEM! My friend has a cd and the games are cheap and everything but the loading time is BAD! GO WITH CART!

I recommend cart system..
Its more expensive than cd but its worth.

Reasons..

1. No bloody loading (If you play kof with team battle mode,
loading time is longer than playing time...especially after first round...)

2. No frame cut (I think it's annoying)

3. CD version doesn't have recent wonderful
games like kof 2000 or Mark of the wolves..etc..(and I don't think these will
come out even later...)

One good thing of cd system is that many games has better quality music than carts

I've checked the ebay these days and most Metal Slug auctions will cost you $80....very high price tag.

Try to help you out but.......
If I decide to sell you my copy, I'll let you know.

You might want to wait till !arcade releases that new console.

Then you can buy carts, but pick either home or mvs.
& Just buy whichever is cheapest.

Get an MVS cabinet. It'll be the best thing you ever do. Cheaper carts, newer games are available, and you get to have that cool arcade game in your own home. But if that is not your thing then definately get the Cart system over the Cd system. I had a CDZ a few months ago and it was still SLOW AS HELL!!!

If you get the cd its just going to get you thirst for the really thing the home system. If you have room or know how to get a super gun setup thats mostly likely the best . If not the Home system or aes is the best thing I ever done. BUt I would recommend the cd controller. I like it better then the joysticks. How u other guys feel about controller...
