Been restoring a red cabinet for the last few days, and though I'm close to done, I now need your opinions. I was originally going to replace the cp overlay, but now that I polished it up, it actually really good. There is no bleaching, it is just from the flash, the color is still as deep as it should be. BUT, the bottom around the bolts is cracked up, even a little missing.
Should I replace it, just put plexi over to protect what is left, or should I just leave it as is?

DID! I love those Sanwa bat tops sticks, they're just on my friend's cabinet, I'm doing his cabinet at the same time. Have another set on the way.

I think it looks great too...My CP overlays aren't perfect,I don't want them to be perfect as I want the cabs to have that been in an Arcade nostalgia look.

Link to Sanwa bat tops sticks please.

Eh, I don't think that it's that bad to make a big deal about. If nothing else, go ahead and get a plexi overlay. That would at least protect it from getting any worse than it already is.

To be honest I would put a plexi over it and call it a day, I have done this with all my cabs and although I can replace them with the overlays I made I like to know I have the original stuff in there, the plexi or lexan will cover most of the blemishes, don't ask me how, it just does.

I know I haven't send that stuff to you, but trust me is such a pain rigth now I have at least 10 folks that want some overlays and the guys that was hosting them is no longer to be found! Man I hate this!

I was hoping Southtown would host them, we're still on the talks about this.

Final word, leave the original on, is not that bad at all, if you change your mind you can allways do a repro later.

BTW: Sanwa bat tops are ok, but man Supers is where is at! One of my MVS cabs have Sanwa Bat tops now, 'cause I use the supers in my Crapcom cab since I'm too lazy to order and I cannot say I don't like them, but damn are supers way better!

Note: Don't forget...I'll whip you all silly on MOTW no matter what sticks I'm using.:emb:

Thanks for the input, seems the majority says to plexi it. No problem on the email, my friend's cabinet needs it more than mine, someone scratched Korn and NIN in the CP plexi.

I almost beat you in MOTW, but now you'll tell me you were giving me false hope for most of the round.;)

Remember who the final word is in this, so worry not for the common folk opinion and do what I tell you! Don't you remember the cabs?! They all had plexi.:emb:

That's right! I like crushing dreamers, it gives me something quite unique and rather delightfull to see the sadness in their eyes.

The ruffles!:lolz: When are you coming over for some more competition?

Note: I have to admit I've lost my edge over the years, hell it's been at least 3 years or so since I play at my best, I need to get back in the game. I've been getting rusty on SSF2T and FFS, my 2 favorite games of all time. I think is time I come back for the wins!

I've been getting a hell of a lot better in MOTW. Learned a few tricks, and a few make me giddy when the work correctly, heh. I'll be back up sometime, was great fun last time.
