Converting my Super Mario arcade to a playchoice 10?

Anyone have experience with single monitor playchoice 10s? I want to replace my mario mother board for a playchoice one. How does the game work with only one monitor and a "regular" control panel? Will I need to add any buttons for my control panel in order to get back to the menu screen? Anyone know any info, it would be nice. I'd like to buy one so I can have 10 games instead of just the one. Thanks.

You can always get a Playcoice Cp... Should fit your VS cab....

Or mount the extra buttons internally.

So you DO need extra buttons? What for? Anyone have experience with a one monitor system? I was sort of hoping you hit the start button and it would pull up a menu or something.

Yes, but that's for the 2 screen version. There are two versions. Right? Hmm, maybe not.

That second schematic you gave is clearly for the two screen one, as that one has two connections on the PCB, unlike this one screen one shown here:

So, unless you know for sure, that still doesn't quite answer the question.

From the info I got from the KLOV site, the control panel is the same as the VS. System games (2 players with 2 buttons each). Since I'm not familiar with the PCB of the Playchoice 10 or Playchoice 5, I don't know about the connections to it but it does state on KLOV that the boards are different for the dual monitor and single monitor games, though the games themselves can be used for both boards.

Both the dual monitor and single monitor still require buttons beyond the joystick and A/B buttons.

the extra buttons are:
Start - just like on the nes pad
Select - ditto
reset - brings you back to the game select menu
channel select - cycles through the game roster
enter - choose game

thats a nintendo VS. system like your mario.

pc-10.jpg

heres my dedicated playchoice-10 ;) one of these days ill get around to putting on that side art.

heres a cpo for a nintendo VS. to playchoice conversion. an actual playchoice panel would work just as well.

and finally heres a website that has some great info as well as the conversion manual

I don't think that's gonna fly with Spike, he likes his games legit and I can't blame him. Plus PC10 has up to 10 games ready to go, an NES deck only has one:(

Word. I could understand wanting one if they beefed up the games or something but they truly are just NES games. More of a novelty than anything else I guess, still pretty cool though to have a multi slot NES, especially in an original dedicated cab.

If you decide to get rid of that VS SMB board, shoot me a PM.

I need to get one for my wife.

i think you just need to do a ppu swap with a playchoice and tap the rgb from that.

Yep, the colors are slightly different using the PC10 PPU as opposed to a NES, though.

You also have to amplify the signal.

I would love to track down one of those retail Kiosks... I think they supported like 5 games.
