I mean really, Sega had this huge lineup behind Naomi, now it has this kick ass Lindbergh hardware, and everyone suddenly jumps ship to Type X? KOFX2, SF4...

That's because...

-supporters-

Type X2:
ARC System Works
Atlus
Arika
AlphaSytem
Capcom
SNK Playmore
X-nauts/Psykyo
Success
sKonec
Taito
Takumi
Mitchell
Moss
Warashi

Lindbergh:
Sega

:oh_no: Taken from an old thread. i'm not sure if that's how it currently is, but I don't think many companies have supported the lindbergh system for some reason.

I mean, I think I can understand. Lindbergh is a super powerful system, and games like SF4 and KOFX2 don't exactly need all that horsepower. So when it came time to choose a system to license it to, they went with the cheaper one. That's just my assumption, tho.

Well, Type X have the familiar-to-develop factor from the Windows' directx.

I don't know if lindberg uses directx, being a PC based hardware, too.

And I'm not sure if Sega wanted lindbergh to be marketed as a multi-company platform like naomi was.

Taito Type X2 is potentially more powerful than the Sega Lindbergh hardware.

potentially = need upgrades :conf:

Type X2 supports different hardware configurations, with different processors, different amounts of RAM, and different GPUs.

Lingbergh in the other hand is static.

Oh, of course, since it's a Windows PC btw.

I just hope that they make games in a way that the older games run ok in the most powered hardware, or it will be a hell to collect when the time comes.
