Locally i seen a couple of really good deals on cabs, one is a dedicated die hard arcade cab and the other looks to be a neo 2slot conversion from a pretty standard dynamo cab.

apparently the neo cab is "in need of a little TLC" but i would be fine as long as the monitor is okay.

Obviously posting on neo-geo.com Its clear i really want a neo cab but I'm not overly keen on this style due to lack of elbow room and the "needs TLC" remark is scary. (i have emailed the guy asking for details on what needs work, no reply yet)

The die hard dedicated cab looks really sexy as well, But I wouldn't play the game all that much and would probably rather convert it later..but all in all it looks to be the better deal and i do like the cab itself better.

both are the exact same price so I'm wondering in your more educated opinion which cab would be the better buy?

also is there some sort of easyish switch mod similar to saturn for the STV? If i could get radiant silvergun going on this cab with out investing too much more on the mobo itself id probably jump on it instantly.

Personally, I think the dedicated Die Hard cabs look horribly ugly. The default button layout also would kind of suck to convert to a 4 button layout due to the way the buttons are angled. I'm not sure what your other question is, but there are dual bios chips for the ST-V so you can switch between US/JAP BIOSes and play the games that are single region.

I'd either wait for a better neo cab to come along, or something that has a better CP layout or one that can be swapped with an NG CP.

thanks alot, yeah thats what i meant by a switch mod.

anyone else have any opinion? I'll probably jump on the neo as long as the monitor looks good, the control panel is a issue i can easily solve myself.

pics!

is it one of those big plastic trash can stv cabinets or your typical dynamo 25" with the angled corners on the control panel?

oh haha i thought it was a diehard converted to a neo.

i didnt realize you were talking about two cabs.

the neo isnt bad at all. the control panel looks a little off center though. but what cp doesnt need work?

the stv cab is defintiely a unique one. if youve got the room, what the hell why not?

The die hard cab is awsome, I have one myself and is gonna be a conversion for a Hyper 64 set up (one of these days :annoyed: ) The button layout can easily be fixed, I have desinged overlays for it and it doesn;t look bad at all.

im a big fan of the diehard arcade cabs. cleaned up they look really nice. and hell with all of the options available, just on this site alone. you can convert it into anything.

namco is getting rid of the dedicated for $99. still considering it myself.

Go with the die hard cab.

The MVS Dynamo conversions are a dime a dozen.

to add to the fun can anyone make out the mini marquees ? the ad claims it comes with a KOF game and doesn't say which one.

I really cant pin that screen to the intros of any KOF games so im not thinking thats a KOF thats running.

this is just curiousity, in the end i really don't care as I have some MVS carts of my own anyway.
