nice cabinets. I've got a blitz with a 4P control panel. The CP can be removed fairly quickly by a few bolts. as for dimensions about 72" tall, 43-44" deep, width without control panel is around a standard neo cabinet. with control panel maybe 34"

incredibly easy to work on, very large access door on the back.

it should. after removing the CP you'll see a strip of metal edging that holds up the monitor glass. after removing that, the glass will slide out, then the plastic bezel. Monitor is simple bolted to 4 metal brackets in the cab, there isn't a complicated shelf like the neo.

I might be making another arcade raid tomorrow myself. :eye:

nba.jpg

(i dont have my digi cam on me)

got this today. nba showtime. really nice monitor, all in all in really nice shape for something that was out in the wild.

i got it for $295 at the auction today. this douche kept out-bidding me at the last second (happened like 4 times) shouldve gotten it for like $245:emb:
i didnt stick around for the whole auction but it was a little more than most games were going (a few nice 4 slots went under 180) but all in all im happy. i wouldve paid much more on ebay/craigslist.

id like to get gauntlet for it in the future. :emb:

I really like these cabs. They give this look as if they're huge, but when you take that CP off, they're actually thinner than your average cab. I have an NBA Showtime/Blitz machine, and I think it's great. Easy for moving, too!

it is pretty skinny. but its also pretty deep. that was an issue turning it around my landing to get it into the basement. got it though but not before getting super pissed and nearly beating the shit out of it.:emb:

anyway. can you replace the handles on the 49-ways with anything? like the ones from super/competition/ultimate/etc.?

can 49-ways work in some kind of regular 8-way mode?

also the control panel has this little pcb in it, anyone know what thats for?

I'm not sure about replacing the joysticks, but I will say I freaking love them. I really love the feel on them. Of course, I'm leaving mine as is for the sports games. This joystick would probably suck for fighters or whatever.

The Midway sports games have a setting change so you can switch them and use regular 8 ways but it doesn't play as well as the 49 ways. Also 49 ways can be used in place of 8 ways however extra wiring is involved and when it comes to fighters especially, their accuracy has a lot to be desired since they're a very 'loose' type of controller. It's been awhile since I've been into a NBA or Blitz cabimet but the little PCB has something to do with the 49 way controllers I believe.

im not looking to replace the 49-ways, just the handles since theyre a little dirty/old/worn.

and since i really dont have any room for any more cabinets, id still like to play other 3-4 player games with this. beat-em-ups, etc. which is why i wanted to know if the 49-ways can be used as 8-ways.

also does anyone know if you can upgrade showtime to blitz gold/showtime (sports station)?

and as far as the vegas hardware goes, can you just change the harddrive and a pic chip to change games? or is it more involved.

IIRC, it's an EEPROM and hard drive change between the various Blitz and Showtime boards. Which chips I don't know.

Dunno about the game, but the cab is sweet :envy:

It would be a cool cab to use with neo or aw with another cp.
