im not a fan of rptv's. poor viewing angle, etc.

but if you do decide to get one, theres a thread at killercabs on how to properly clean up the monitor/projectors.

the poor viewing 'angle' means nothing when you are directly in front of it .

for $2g's try to score (2) egret 2's or 3's or Atomiswave SD cabs or Blast City cabs.

i'm just under the impression that finding parts for Megalo cabs is a bitch if something goes wrong.

i wouldnt say so.

rptv's have a very hazy/glowy picture, especially if youre so close, and its an old one that hasnt been calibrated in a long time.

you cant tell me an rptv gives a better picture than a direct view one.

but yes, you're wasting money getting a megalo for $2k, just get two candies for that price instead.

i wouldnt even take one for free (ive actually had that opportunity a few times).. $2000 :loco:

yeah it might seem cool with a 50" display and all, but the cabs are utterly shite, huge bulky monstruous things.
id solve it some different way if your gagging for a big monitor, build something yourself involving a projector or something.

That's great. My old college gameroom had 2 of them. I thought they were quite nice to play on. Lots of people on killercabs talk about how Megalo 410s they've seen in the wild have horrible PQ. Mine is great. But then again I hand picked mine personally from a lot of 10. I had the chance several years ago for a Megalo 2, but even back then I was out of space.

since these things are so big and dont look like a real cab, i dont see the different from gaming in front of a 50 inch plasma with a supergun.

for 2 grand, hell no.

RPTVs are very hit or miss with quality, and it's hard to calibrate them, you usually need a pro.

Yeah to each their own. However, looks like a "real" cab to me.

nah, a huge HDTV and a nice wood panel 2 player custom stick and its the same deal. a cab is meant to stand/sit right next to it.

nah, you wouldn't put a panel right next to a "huge" (50" or bigger) HDTV. Too close.
