Does anyone know the closest color that the factory cab is...I have 25" dedicated cabs, one has the speakers at the top of cab and is the taller version. The other cab is the one that is a little shorter with the speakers under the headers..both are 4 slots...I am going to repaint the sides of one of my cabs, and re-stencil the sides also.......WHAT IS THE CLOSEST TO FACTORY RED ON THESE CABS.........

Isn't the cab red already? Can't you just match the paint? Anyway, it's just standard red. Red is red. Where did you get orange? Hehe.

If you want to restore it might I recommend black sides, front and bezel with the standard Neo 4 slot marquee holder and control panel (red/white striped). You can pick up MVS side stickers too to spice it up a bit. This is what many conversions/homemade jobs look like and it looks pretty badass if I do say so myself...

The original cabs are not actually painted. It is a thin adhesive both on the red and the black. I have thought about using a formica laminate to restore cabs, but I think it will be prohibitively expensive to go that route.

Try peeling off a small section of the colored adhesive and take it to a paint shop to have them color match it.

The other issue I wonder about is how the particle board that the cabs are made of will take the paint. That may be the reason for the advesive.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

What do you mean original? I don't think any official dedicated Neo is painted. Stock particle paints pretty nice, but who knows what's hiding under the laminate. If you are actually tearing this stuff off and expect to slap a coat of paint on there to make it look better you may be in for a suprise. It's going to take a hell of a lot of work to get all the glue and whatnot off of there, it may even be impossible.

If you are doing touch up work with the paint then do what Briggs said. Take a razor blade a cut off a small portion in the corner or something. Bring it to Home Depot and have them color match it (I swear this doesn't work. I've had it done a few times and it NEVER turns out to be the same color).

On the other hand, I've actually seen brand new factory laminate sides go up on eBay before. But don't hold your breate until that happens again.

We are on the same page. By "original" I meant the SNK dedicated cabs. Dedicated can mean different things depending on who you are talking to. As far as the red adhesive, it seems to come off pretty easily (too easliy).

I really think the formica type laminate would be the best was to go, But it is about $50 for a 4x8 sheet. Depending on your cab, you would need 2 - 3 sheets. Then you could have the artwork printed out at a sign shop on cut vinyl. I think that would be the cleanest approach, but have not tried it myself.

My smaller 4 slot is the red adhesive, my larger 4 slot eems to have a black adhesive, unless someone painted over the red. Did any neo's come with black sides. I do know that the are dedicated cabs. At least i am pretty sure they are. I may try to find the same type of red laminate that is on the cab and then, simply put it on and then cut to the shape of the cab and add new T-molding. One last question though on my smaller 4 slot 25" the headphone and mem. card slot sticker is yellow w/ red writing while my larger neo has a white sticker w/ red letters. Does this sound right....
