My head hurts from reading a single post of his, 3 posts and I gave up, if it's barely worth my time to read some of you guys normally, it's sure as hell not worth it to waste 3 times as much time to read a post.

I'll concede the gun/man catching other guy in bed with wife argument was not that great.

Sorry, but don't try to tell me taking another person's life for a reason as petty as as "he fucked my wife" is or can be acceptable.

Here is what you said:

Like if you caught some guy fucking your wife and had a gun on you, it is perfectly understandable you might shoot him dead, i would say it wasn't your fault you shot him and you shouldn't go to prison, because it's an anger fueled reflex in most cases.

I just disagree.

It is understandable (as in i understand why the person would do it), but it is not reasonable.

It would be the person's fault, and I think you should go to jail.

I think a person needs to accept responsibility for their actions. And as a society we just can't say "damn, that guy was out of his mind for all of 20 seconds, we better just let him off..."

Anyway, the point was with regard to what you said about the use of the firearm anyway, not the cheating example which, yeah, probably wasn't the best one.

Well obviously in a civilised world there has to be some accountability, but i don't think in terms of black and white.

I mean i think that there is a difference between my example and say someone shooting up a bank for cash where it is a planned armed murder/robbery.

Sentencing should be variable, i would not say some guy shooting some other guy fucking his wife is the same as an aggressive serial killer or paedophile child murderer.

But anyway this is for the other thread, and it's kind of off topic to guns themselves, although it would make a good new topic i guess.

All i'm saying is if you shoot someone, and it's not out of self defense, their needs to be jail time.

Thats it, it's not "black and white" as you want to label it. I never said how long and I never equated it to premeditated murder in fact time and time again i've stated it isn't the same as a premeditated crime and that it does need to be looked at in a different light. It's still a criminal act not matter how you look at it though. You just can't fucking kill someone in a fit of rage in our society because you as a person don't have the authority to choose whether another person lives or dies.
