Hi everyone.

I need some help with the name of a piece I need for my cabinet.

I recently got a hold of an Aero City that needs some work in the control panel area. As far as I can tell, the entire top part of the control panel has been replaced with some third party unit that doesn't match the lines of the cabinet. I'm looking to get a replacement, but 1. they're hard to find and 2. I don't know what to call the thing.

The 'control panel' is the rectangular (in the case of the Aero) piece of metal with holes for the joysticks and the buttons, right? Then what do you call the thing that the control panel mounts on to? It's generally the piece that has the coin slot.

I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me what it's called and maybe point me in a direction where I could find it maybe?

welcome to the forum and nice cabinet....

control panel would be correct and control panel bezel/surround I guess for the other part. As for getting replacements; here ya go. I'm about to order one as well, I believe they have both parts you were inquiring about. Contact one of the english speaking guys and Im sure they will square you away

Thanks for the info. I always felt stupid calling the bezel(?) 'the thing that the control panel bolts on to'.

I remember reading that people have obtained replacement parts from riverservice but I couldn't find it on their website. I'll be sure to email them and ask about it.

Here's an update for anyone that might be as confused as I was.

Apparently, the bottom piece is called a 'panel base'. At least that's what some manual (possibly the Aero City manual?) referred to it as. You can see a picture of it on riverservice's old page here.

RS definitely used to sell these, but I talked to them over email and I was told that these replacement parts aren't being produced anymore. I guess it makes sense seeing how old the Aero is.

If anyone has any Aero control panels or panel bases, or knows anywhere I could obtain a set, I'm all ears!

You should probably just browse Yahoo Japan. It wont be cheap, but it may be your only option
