Hi from Spain,

Today has arrived a 2nd hand supergun I bought from UK. I've tried it with the Wrestlefest board that was included and it works quite well. The only problem is that for some reason the colors are messed up. The picture is good, it's just that the colors are not what they should be, I post screenshots tonight I hope, I don't know why. The supergun came with a RGB euroconnector. The board itself appears to be in very good condition (it was very well packed, with lots of plastic bubbles). The supergun arrived quite dismounted, so I had to mount it again (the plastic case was split into its to parts). I don't see any internal damage, there's just a lot of wires there. Do you have any idea about how I can solve this problem? My TV is Sony 21'' NTSC/60 Hz compatible with RGB euroconnector, and displays OK any type of consoles I've used before.
In the following days I'll receive a MVS motherboard and I already have 3 MVS games I can test the supergun with too.

Any idea about what to do? Please help!

Is it the colours are accurate, but there is plenty of colour bleeding?? (especially on red and white).

You see Jamma boards typically use 4v peak on there RGB lines where as consoles and other RGB scart equipment only uses only 0.7v peak.

put a 1k variable resistor on the R,G,B outputs from the Jamma connector.

You'll be able to adjust the resistance to get the best possible picture for the different games.

I hope that helps.

Thanks for your reply, I'll check it but before I want to wait for more answers. I'm not really sure if what happens is what you say. In the meanwhile you can check some shots:

Looks like the WrestleFest board is broken (something todo with the colour proms), get another *working* boardset and it should work fine..

you can also try adjusting the 5V on the power supply carefully, some boards produce weird results if they get too much/too little power.
and definately try out a different board.
if all fails, you can try switching around the color pins on the scart plug or jamma connector, they might be hooked up in the wrong order.

OK, maybe the wrestlefest board was somehow damaged during the voyage between UK and Spain. It's a pity but I don't care that much about it, it was somehow included as an extra for me to be able to test the supergun as soon as it arrives, but I'm not interested in that game. In fact I don't like wrestling games at all.
The seller told me he had played that board with that supergun a lot, so I don't think there's a problem on the 5V (I already touched it a bit with exactly no change)or the other tings you mention. I've e-mailed him about it.
OK, in the following days I should receive the MVS board and I'll try it.

When you say weird colours, its hard to visualise.
1. Is the sky green and grass blue.
2. Can you see pairing of alternate lines, like PAL without the alternate phase switching. Red=Orange ?
Sounds to me like a system switching problem on your TV.

Thanks for all your help. The seller has just replied this:
"You need not worry there is no problem with the colors on the board. It is simple a chip has come loose on the wrestlefest pcb in teh post, this happened before all you need to do is place the board on a settled surface, and gently move the board to where the colors all appear, then keep it there!! and you will have no problem. Of course if you know anyone who can secure the chip, this can be done in 2 minutes!!!! "

I'll try that later, althought I'm not so sure about what he means. So definately it appears a problem in the game PCB, I don't think it has nothing to do with my TV, I've tried another TV with the same result.

In the meanwhile you can check a picture of the presentation screen as I see it:
<a href="http://danielcuadras.eresmas.com/sgun/0080.jpg" target="_blank">http://danielcuadras.eresmas.com/sgun/0080.jpg</a>
and how it should be:
<a href="http://danielcuadras.eresmas.com/sgun/correct.gif" target="_blank">http://danielcuadras.eresmas.com/sgun/correct.gif</a>
You can see black turns into blue.

Yes, I've done what the seller told me and it has worked (sort of). I've put the sgun and the board on the floor. I've moved the board a little and yes, colors started to change and after a while of trial and error I've managed to see the right picture. However it has only lasted around 10 secs. I don't think I can be able to fix it in a right position long enough. So it's a problem of the board and both the sgun and my TV should work OK. Next week I should receive the MVS 1-slot board and it should go well. It's a pity about the wretlefest board. I could try to secure the loose chip (or have some engineer friend of mine do so), but which chip would it be? Is there some way to know which one is?
