Fatal Fury Special and Samurai Shodown 2 were the ones that *convinced* me to buy a system, although it was much later when it actually happened. The big reason I originally bought a PSX was because I read there'd be a conversion of SS2 for it in a gaming mag-although I'm still happy I have one for games like SaGa Frontier 2, Suikodens, Grandia, etc.

Well, for me the games that turned me to the Neo*Geo were titles like:

Baseball Stars 1 and 2
Samurai Shodown II
Fatal Fury 2
Magician Lord
Ghost Pilots

I've been Neo Geo Happy for a long time.

-Metal Slug
-Samurai Spirits
-Waku Waku 7
-King of Fighters

I have a friend who owns a couple game stores down in Phoenix. Most of my neogeo fanaticism comes from him.

Well essentially the originals. Like Sengoku, League Bowling, Nam 1975, Baseball Stars, Super Baseball 2020, King of Monsters... and the list goes on...

For me its Shock Troopers and Metal Slug, I am so in love with them! I got SS2 on home System and it was a big dissapointment for me, but SS3 kicks your ass!
Need to get some (King of) fighters for my CAB. only got shooters at the moment.

My gaming passion started with King of the Monsters... and I got hooked onto Fatal Fury for a while.

BUT.... the crown jewel of it all IMO... and as Samuel L. Jackson would say, was the World fucking Heroes franchise...

I started back in the Street Fighter days, so for me it was initially Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting.

I LOVED any kind of martial arts game, and the Neo always provided those..

Then Samurai Spirits grabbed my attention big-time, and it was all downhill from there. Later on I discovered Metal Slug, which is one of my other favorite series.

But overall, it was the early first generation Neo games that got me hooked. Too bad I was just a punk kid back then who couldn't buy a Neo... and had to make do with "regular" consoles..

For me it was the fact that the Neo Geo was exactly like the arcade and no system at that time 10 years ago existed.

Fatal Fury Special and King of Fighters 94..

When I was in Junior school, these mighty games came out,

At that time,FFS defeated capcom's SSF ,and
KOF 94 totally killed SSFT in most game centers near my hometown...

I still remember it..and these two games made me to support snk and neo
instead of capcom and cps.

The Metal Slug series FORCED me to get the Neo Geo home system I always loved that line and was waiting for it to hit the domestic shores. But it just took too long for MSX to come (just got here a month ago for the PSX) and that's why I invested in a Neo Geo last fall. I bought MS3 and KoF 99 and had them sitting on the shelf for 2 days before my beloved console arrived. Now that is how you newbies are supposed to start a Neo Geo collection - METAL SLUG!! Do like I did. Make sure you have a chapter of Metal Slug in your possession when you get a Neo geo

If I was a spoiled rich brat 10 years ago, I would have bought the system for Samurai Shodown 1 and 2, hands down.

The first Neo Geo game I ever played was actually World Heroes. I liked it but it wasn't until I saw Samurai Shodown in a magazine and then a few months later played it for the first time that I knew I had to have a Neo Geo plain and simple. But the Last Blade series are the games that keep me coming back for more!!!

Magicial Lord, Nam 75 and Top Player Golf convinced me to be one of the first people to drop 8 bills for a Neo System and a cart back in the days.

Then came AOF, Fatal Fury and Last Resort.

When Samurai Shodown came out, I never played Street Fighter again. That was the turning point of my Neo Passion.

Then the Metal Slugs, Neo Turf Masters and the Last Blades...nuff said!

I would say samuri shodown is what finaly made me decide i had to have snk games in the home, that and king of the fighter games
i was first introduced to kof 96.

I would say my first introduction to snk was when i played fatal fury games on the mega drive,it kinda shifted from there, i hated streetfighter 2 though for some reason i could never get into capcom games.
