I have a broken X-Box for sale. I bought this from ki_atsushi a loooong time ago.

What you get:
1) The broken X-Box console
2) A/V cable
3) The laser/motor I took out of the optical drive, which may or may not work. I handled it pretty carefully when I replaced it, so at the very least it's no worse off than before I took it out. The optics on it look clean.

No power cord or controllers.

$25 shipped.

MONEY ORDER ONLY (checks will be accepted from reputable, well-known members), no paypal under any circumstances. Pictures and/or more details available upon request

Best offers considered but keep in mind that this beast is heavy and will be expensive to ship. ALL TRADES CONSIDERED (including broken stuff and non-gaming related), especially if you are local to me.

The hard drive is working, and the system boots ok, but it won't read any discs (CDs or DVDs) in the optical drive. I tried fixing it by purchasing and installing a brand new laser/motor assembly. Unfortunately, it didn't actually help. Maybe the replacement parts were bad, I could exchange it for another one, and that would work. I suspect that the problem may be related to the motor, but I honestly have no idea what the problem is, and I'm tired of tinkering with this thing. I'm just going to buy an X-Box on craigslist this weekend.

Given the current going price of X-Boxes (X-Boxen?) I wouldn't be surprised if this doesn't sell. I'd get rid of it for cheaper but I need to offset the cost of the replacement parts I bought. There will be no bumps; if this doesn't go in the next couple days I'm just going to give it to my local game shop for parts.

I just want to point out that replacement DVD drives are cheap as hell. You could probably have this working with about $15 and 10 minutes of your time. Replacing the drive just involves a simple swap.

Hey Lochlan, sorry to hear you never got it to work.

To anyone who wants to fix this: You should be able to find full replacement drives cheaply now though (they were around $50 when I sold this broken Xbox to Lochlan probably close to 2 years ago now), and it's a lot easier then opening up the existing drive and tinkering with it.

Good luck with your sale Lochlan, although it looks like you already have a buyer.

I'll take it man. I've got access to an extra drive and have been looking for a fairly cheap X-Box. Shoot me a PM if this is still available.
