I just received The King of Fighters 2000 from Bottom Line Logistics listed on E-Bay. The cart would not start properly showing only graphical errors. I opened the cart to find no snk marking or Toshiba chips. 2 of the large chips have been marked with the letter M or W and say Sony on them. Can anyone confirm that these guys are selling illegal crap MVS carts?

Well, Toshiba chips doesn't wear SNK band as they are Toshiba chips.

As for Sony chips, guess they are Eproms, which is common to come by in MVS carts and even home carts.

Anyway description is rather "light", taking a picture would be the best way to show us :)

there are no toshiba chips anywhere in the cart. There is no snk warranty label and again it doesn't work. I have no digital camera and would not make up a story up about gitting riped off. I could discribe any off the inards but i don't know what else to look for. I was also contacted by another bidder before recieving the cart describing the same problems. These guys are going to give me my money back or i will drive to Kansas and kick their old man asses.

This was discussed long before the auction was over. The seller does not deal with MVS stuff and probably didnt know it was a boot.

I am new to the forum. I was not contacted until after the auction was over and had already paid. Even though they don't deal in MVS that does not excuse them from pissing on people who spend hard earned money. A 100 bucks didn't seem to good to be true as there is one up for auction at this moment for around 130. Thanks to all those who have attempted to educate me on bootleg carts. I guess I will just have to frequent the forum more often.

I'm sorry about your loss!

I was tempted to order, but it seemed too good to be true.

Thanks for sharing your information, however. Your loss has helped the community out (I just wish you hadn't lost $100)

Thats why you ask the questions BEFORE you bid on any auction. Besides, they dont specify on the description if its an original cart or not. Read well all the descriptions and ask all the questions before you bid on any item...thats your lesson for the day!

they are a delivery company that sells off stuff that wasn't paid for or picked up. they have no clue what a bootleg is. I'd guess they picked the 100$ by going by the average ebay price, and then went a bit lower cause they can't give any real info.

From now on I will always ask- Are you selling a piece of shit that won't work? Is this an illegal piece of shit that won't work?
I've bought many games off e-bay and never once did i think i should ask if its Official. I'm not mad though. The company agreed to give a full refund to all those who have reported problems. Thanks to the other bidders for reporting their findings.

Im glad to hear you guys will get refunds, however, I think you certainly lucked out on this one. Most sellers would have probably told you "too bad, should have read the description..."

they just emailed all buyers offering a refund.
it was an honest mistake in this case, they didn't intentionally try to sell bootlegs as originals.. and I find it very fair of them to refund the money.

Agreed.
There are some sellers like aslan11 on ebay who sells bootlegs also and never says they are.

Too bad guys, I was tempted to bid as well, but something bothered me about the auction... glad I held off. Finding a real KOF2K now seems like a task, why did I wait so long, now that it has been dumped there are toooooo many bootlegs!!! I mean there were some before, but now there are a lot,
