Comb filtering

does Comb filtering and digital Comb filtering only help rf and composite video inputs only. if so then i would not need one if i am using s-video and component video inputs only.

No, it helps everything using scaned lines of resolution. S-vid and component included.

My understanding of comb filter techniques is that their sole purpose is to separate luma from chroma, thus having no effect on anything better than composite. What then do these digital comb filters do for YC or YUV video?

I have actually been looking into Comb Filters and Line Doublers recently for my 46" RPTV and ran across a few decent articles on both. This may help some with any things you were wondering about :)

so if am only going to be using s-video and compoent in only i wont need a ditial comb filter and a comb filter.
