I picked up these up for free. They actually had four, but already disposed of two. I've only had a chance to get one going so far. I'll work on the other next weekend. The four slot has a bad color bank error, but I have a 1-slot in it for now. If anyone knows were I can get the artwork for this kind of cabinet, let me know. I'll post a pic of the second one when I get a chance. Yeah for free!

Has it been flooded or in a fire? The rust locations and the melted marquees are strange looking.

They were kept outside for years. They look rough, but the rust is only on the surface. A weekend of sanding and painting will have then looking really good.

Thats so cool man, you can't beat free! I'm a little green with envy to be honest.

I'd rather get a fixer-upper cab anyways than something thats mint at the time of purchase. Its so much more satisfying having a mint cabinet that you personally restored.

I have one re-painted now. Talking about a lot of work. Although there was a lot of rust, the paint is really hard to sand through. I'm sandblasting the second one now and will powder coat most of the parts. Unfortnuately the 4-slot board could not be saved, so I'm going to put a modified xbox in there so I can play a wide variety of arcade games. Here is the finished cab:

Yessirree that's a nice one. Having just purchased a U-4 myself I think we should start an SNK MVS Candy Group.

Yeah, he stated he was sandblasting and powdercoating the other one. So double your envy and multiply it by mine.

That's a fantastic deal you came across. Congratulations.

Yea, that looks awesome. I've always wanted one of those for the full Neo candy experience. Stick another 4 slot in there instead!

That is one lucky motha, That is by far my favorite candy and my very first one as well, so congrats are in high order, also super mega hughe props for all the work done so far it looks ace.

If I may bug for a bit though, you could have some of my CO overlays printed in some sort of vinyl or propylene and put them in your CP's...just a thought for the CP to match the greatness of the rest of your work.

Craigslist MVS 4U Cab

I think I ended up with the cab you're talking about. You should have offered him less. That's what I did and ended up getting the cab without the four slot. Just finished sanding and repainting it. It came out fairly decent. Certainly better than what I started with. I could have done a better job sanding...should have moved to a much finer grit after I got the minimal rust off. Now I just have to get the damn thing reassembled. Oh and the "perfectly working" cab did have a few issues...a switch was out and the pins on the memory card reader are toast. Shame on me for not checking it out first. If anyone has a spare MV-1C board for sale let me know.
