THey're still keeping 200 Namcolands open, and god knows how many Sega arcades open.

It's sad from an ideological standpoint. Japan arcades represent a social gaming with strangers and friends that has been lost here for many years. I always envied that they were still going strong with arcades there. It's just sad to see the begining of the end for them as well.

I've been playing NES for hours straight now, and could really use some sleep. :(

Anyway, +1 for "screw the wii. bring back the arcades.".

That's a real shame and I hope that the closures don't become more severe. Akihabara's shops and arcades are the whole reason I plan on making a trip in the not-too-distant future. It'll be a real letdown if the arcade scene is gimped in the near future.

Here's keeping my fingers crossed and hoping the world's last great arcade garrison doesn't disappear.
