I know this might be a very dumb (knowing me it will be) question.....

Just the thread below confused me:
http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=137504

As I am about to make my own RGB, eight pin Din to Scart lead for my neo, sick of ones made with cheap looking parts.
So going to mod one of my hand made chord co. scart leads, and put a metal 8pin Din on the other end.

I know I asked before for links to making a lead, but what is the minimum number of wires for RGB? is there an earth an sync etc as well as the R G and B.

RGB is RGB there is no diference in Systems, it is native so to speak, the vertical frequency may differ from 50 to 60 HZ depending on the source- mvs for instance is (forget now but its around 58...Hz I think)

Of course it is different with the home system where the signals are encoded.

For Japanese 21-pin RGB you need R, G, B, composite sync and GND.

For SCART you need R, G, B, composite video and GND.

SCART doesn't have a composite sync signal for whatever dumb reason so SCART TVs strip composite sync off composite video ("CVBS"). Since the composite sync signal is the same as the composite sync signal present in composite video, you can probably use either the Neo's composite video or composite sync connected to SCART's composite video. Just mentioning this because in a "true" RGB setup (with no composite video involved), the sync input may not be equipped to strip it from composite video, so you couldn't necessarily build an adapter to use your SCART lead with an arcade monitor for example.

Hi thanks for everyones help.

I was asking because my Neo just wont run on my Samsung LCD TV, it comes up with nothing on the RGB scart input, but works fine on the other (apart from its not in RGB).
Tried it on my mates Samsung, with same results.

Just won this Neo lead on eBay to see if helps:

I am asking because I am soon to buy a 50" plasma (when move in with girlfriend in 4months time) and want to know what it needs to have to run the Neo in RGB.
