I think everyone is able to get away with breaking the rules right now while they are under review. I think Bobak was concerned that it isn't fair to enforce the rules when it is difficult for noobs to find and read the rules because they are scattered and piecemeal. That is the purpose of the new rules thread:

http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=177087

When I joined, I was extra diligent to search for and locate the rules, and I think you have been, too. However, not every noob is going to be that diligent, and I think Bobak wants to give people the benefit of the doubt until the new rules are posted and clear.

Hopefully, once the new rules are finally posted in each of the market forums, we won't be seeing any abuse anymore.

I understand what you're trying to say, but the subject of my thread continued to break the rules in spite of the polite warning I gave him.

Obviously, there are no consequences for the behaviour, so he'll carry on with it.

I'm going to bump my threads thrice daily from now on.

I saw the warning you gave him. I think it was very noble of you.

Rather than copy his behavior, I think you would better serve the community by referring him to the specific thread and post where the "24-hour bump rule" exists.

Or simply report his posts.

I respect where you are coming from. It is just as frustrating for me when I notice that other people do not observe the rules that I go out of my way to observe. But I try to not stoop to their level. As noble as your intentions are (or seem to be), I hope you won't either.

Well, I'm too much of a goody two shoes to do it, but there really needs to be a verbal warning given by a mod or person with some kind of authority so they know they're being watched.

As it stands, at four successful trades, people should know what the rules are and how breaking them makes the trading community they use that much weaker.

I was bidding on your NES auction in order to return the favour. I had no intention of winning it, I was just wanted to help you get more bids. I already have an NES setup that I don't even use.

Your bumping was annoying and even though I politely gave some advice not to, you continued to mess around.

Thanks a lot.

Thanks for slandering me on the forum though.

I've made my mistakes on ebay, but I've learned my lesson as a seller. I really have no one to blame but myself.

Ok, this a PM between MSH and I. I was initially just trying to help this guy out by bidding on his auctions and telling him not to spam his own selling threads, this is the thanks I get.

Fuck it, tar and feather me, I don't care. Deal with me or don't.

It's not Shilling if you plan to go through if you win....

I'm sure that Rade would have loved to take the items at that price.

Shilling is systematically bumping someone up..... And splitting the costs if you accidentally win.

You're absolutely right. Before you accept payment from your buyer for the NES, you should deduct my 15 dollar bid from his total.

I don't have a problem with Rade's Actions... I do the same thing... And I hate tomfuckery.

If I know a seller, and they have an item for sale:

I often throw in a few Low-Ball Bids that I do not expect to win.... just to get the price up and help them out....

If I win, That's awesome, I get a steal of a deal.

Just to show everybody how ridiculous MSH is:
http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=260206064600

He bid an item to $15.00. It ended at $101.00.

After Rade's bid, FIVE other people bid against each other. Making his lowball inconsequential.

Also, I do not believe that the item was properly titled as an auction item.... Until the final day of BUMPS.

This is also in violation of the marketplace rules.

MSH, I think you need to calm down. You're going WAY overboard here.

I agree, I do not understand what this is about anymore.

Why would MSH give $5 to the guy who won it for $101? It's puzzling. Rade's bid had no effect on the outcome, he was simply a starter whether or not he had intended to buy it, his bid was lost in a bidding war long before the end.

Hey,I'm very calm guy. Def no prob there. I'm one of the few here not going around calling people dick heads or cunts, unlike your friends who are trying hard to defend you. Due to that infact, how staunchly they defend you, since it would cause question as to your ebay activity,I posted all of your negatives in the scammer/time waster thread.

I never once said you ripped anyone off here. I have only stuck to the facts and what you have admitted to,so its not slander. I never asked for your "help" in jacking up my bids.

This whole thing is spiralling here and I think we just need to stop.

A few notes.
- Bumping before 24 hours is a rule and has been enforced sporadically here by us mods. And we have more than one person that ignores the rule, but abuse is minimal. If anything the one that drives me more crazy is the multiple thread rule, but that's a different issue.... Ideally we enforce the rules uniformly, but that's not always the case. Something we'll be working on in the near future.

- MSH is quite a good buyer and seller, having dealt with him previously myself. As a seller he is always concerned the buyer is happy and as a buyer he is a straight shooter. Yeah, he can be sometimes brutally honest and maybe that's a fault, but you know what you're getting.
EDIT: A note about Rade. He's a long time member and people like him, so he gets the benefit of the doubt from most people. Doesn't make it right or wrong, but remember that.

- The point about shill bidding that should be taken is it screws up the bidding process no matter when it occurs, beginning or end. Rade may very well have been trying to help out, but admitting it was as such looks bad in the purest of eBay senses. And MSH getting bent about it may be overreacting but he's trying to be honest, perhaps to a fault.

In the end, I give this conversation about 5 more posts to calm the hell down or it's going to the War Room/closed.

It had a effect,as it was a bid, regardless of the time it was placed,or the amount.
True, the end amount may still have reached the $101,but it also may have ended $5 less. The point being I didn't ask for this kind of help,I don't want it,and I don't like shill bidding in any form from other ebay members.

I see you logic but it makes little sense in the end result... someone else would eventually bid 15 bucks and the result would still be the same.

about rade ebay feedback, :spock:
