Home System not working

I've got hold of a second home system (just console no power or anything else) got it powered up last night.

When the NEO-GEO logo appears on boot up the NEO-GEO disappears and just the "max 330 mega pro gear spec" is left, also the game title screen comes up ok but game graphics are garbled with what looks like neo geo logos etc. Oh and also there's no sound - doh !

Does anyone know if this system is beyond economic repair, I assume numerous IC's / Circuitry is screwed.

Try cleaning the device's slots. If the graphics are all messed up, it's possible that the pins on the slots corresponding to the graphics data are dirty and causing the system to draw the wrong sprites.
