Maybe this has been discussed before but it's been announced that SNKP is putting together a compilation of their earlier (maybe non-neo) titles for the PS2 & PSP. If anyone has any info or pics regarding the game, please post about it here. Thanks!

Hopefully these will come with extra incentives for those us who may already have the original games, such as TV spots, flyers, NG CD remixed tracks as an option, interviews, etc.

But what was pre-neo geo that was actually any good? If it is titles before the Neo Geo, I would imagine it would at least have to include Ikari Warriors,.. heck, maybe even Psycho Soldier with it's terrible, but at the time wonderful, soundtrack. :p

I've only played the NES version and I love it, it'd be nice to see how the arcade original was.

I'm pretty interested in Prehistoric Isle too.

Oh man! I forgot all about P.O.W. I played the sh!t outta that in the arcades when I was a kid.

So it does look like this will be an SNK collections of pre-Neo Geo games, now I'm even more curious.

dude if you love P.O.W. for NES, you will fucking love the shit out of the arcade version which is 10x better graphically.

as much as I loved Nam 1975, I always wanted SNK to make a sequel to P.O.W.
for Neo, around 1991 or so.


P.O.W. is my favorite pre-NEO*GEO game

and hey, just because it's better graphically doesn't mean it is better.
for instance, I prefer Genesis Thunder Fox to arcade Thunder Fox.

I know. but in the case of P.O.W. the arcade is better in graphics, sound, gameplay and overall.

I personally would lose my mind if they ever remade Ikari Warriors so that it played like Gears of War.

As soon as I saw several screen caps, I knew you'd post. And btw, when isn't the arcade better then a port or "translation"?

SuperGrafx POW is better then the arcade version anyway. Take that and put it in your pipe AirRaid.

Doesn't matter...

They are pretty much all the same.... And all from the first level... Why would somebody plaster them? I don't know.

I have the P.O.W. arcade board. It gets really dull and repetitive fast by today's standards. The most fun I have is trying to use the trick to make the gun last indefinitely. It was a really common game, so I remember the game well from back in the day, and even then I don't remember there being anything particularly attractive about it, other than that it was 2 players.
