...Seriously... i'm a prozaic guy and prefer a nice easy life.... recently it's become a bit tedious with the awesome level of fake accounts/retarded guys... Dark_Andy... as the most recent example...

...Us chat regulars and genuine noob chatsers... would like a level of control....

Back in the day, we did have moderators for chat while using IRC. The NG.com chat room was under BonusKun's jurisdiction and the complaints were fierce and plentiful. Now that our members are allowed to chat in FFA (free for all) mode, the complaints have been blissfully few and far between.

I think the complaints stopped because the gimped web based chat is almost impossible to abuse the way IRC is.

Its a double edged sword. Barely works for those that want to use it, barely works for those that want to abuse it.

We will be upgrading to vBulletin® 3.7 once available. Perhaps this will resolve the chat issues that currently exist. vBulletin is in beta 3 so another week or two and it should be available. We will probably wait for the 1st or 2nd patch though before upgrading.
