What would you need to do that? Just take it out of the unit, hook it up to an external shell and load the software? Is that it?

(yes, I should really google it)

I had someone soft mod my xbox years ago, and it worked pretty good, so I'm definitely pro-softmod.

Hacked gamesave (need way of loading it onto a memory device) for original splinter cell or a couple of other games. That boots into a small linux os from which you can install another dashboard.

yeah, I bought an action replay memory card to transfer the gamesave from CPU to xbox. I used Splinter Cell. from what I remember you need the original game disc, not platinum editions.

then to install a bigger HD, you FTP over necessary files from your xbox to computer. using a utility called xbox HD manager, create a linux boot disc. install fresh HD in a tower and boot from the CD you made, after the HD is formatted. open your xbox and swap out the drives.

the easiest way to install emulators and programs is to download a package called Auto Installer Deluxe. it has all the stuff you'd want, just burn it to dvdr and pop in the xbox. go through the menus and it will install what you select
