I just felt that i had to inform the neo geo community of this. I bought an item from bill burger on ebay titled Unknown non jamma game board.

it said that the item was a non jamma game board and he didnt know what it was.

Fine.

but when i recieved it it turned out to be an old 386DX motherboard. this is completely useless to me.

when i sent him an email informing him that this is what the board actually was, i simply asked him if there was anything he could do.

his immediate response was to ban me from his future auctions. no negotiation, no yes i will try, NOTHING.

i have literally put thousands of dollars into Bills pocket on numerous auctions, and i always have been satisfied with his auctions. ALWAYS. you can check this by looking up Mvsfan on ebay.
:buttrock:
the first time i wasnt, that is how he responds.

so i can no longer recommend that ANYONE buy from bill burger. Ever.

Bill Burger is a fucking moron. I've never seen anyone fuck up so many auctions. Real life Forrest Gump. Actually, Forrest is a kinder man.

only thing i wish

is that i had access to great auctions like he does being in California. I live in a Small town, and where i am at i am very lucky to see an arcade game let alone used boards. I came from Tampa originally and had tons of places to go for this stuff, also i am a huge Rock and heavy metal fan and i cannot find that either.

the closest place for me for used arcade stuff is ATLANTA Georgia and that is 200 miles away.

by contrast

Raymond Jett of Arcadecomponents.com is wonderful.

he will work with you on various things, and will even take parts in trade for a repair.

i sent him some console motherboards and chips and he enthusiastically took it off of my repair bill.

i will say that it is entirely up to him what he takes in trade (check his website)

as is his ability to say yes or no.

His communication is great, as is his nice factor.

for all of your pcb repair problems, he is the guy to go to. he specializes in Neo geo repair, as well as anything game related you request. If he can fix it, he will tell you so. if he cant, he will tell you that too.

i could sell

old 386 and 486 motherboards on ebay as "unknown game boards" and make lots of money.

but i would be doing the entire buyer base a disservice.

some buyers myself included are collectors who dont mind buying old crusty unknown game boards even if it is a pinball board, its still a game board.

but IMHO, if you sell it as such, it better at least control a toy crane.

Bill needs to get his medications checked. I asked him a simple question once to clarify something one of his auctions said, and you would think I had simultaneously shoved a rabid porcupine up his arse while violating his grandmother's corpse with an eggbeater, based on his reply.

I've never seen anyone ban people from auctions for asking a simple question...

until Bill.

He did it to me.

What a tumbling dickweed. I hope he gets AIDS.

BTW, check that "Motherboard" you got, it could very possibly be a megatouch mobo.. if you need help Identifying it, let me know. Then, it would actually be worth something.

Agreed. Never had a problem with Burger, but our deals have been strictly me winning an auction then paying via paypal and then recieving said merchandise. Never tried any communication with him as I have never had a need to.

Now I'm not trying to be an ass, but it sounds like you got exactly what you bid on: an unknown, non-jamma board.

If you hadn't noticed, almost all of us started out with a good transaction with him, then we kept buying and eventually he burned us. Keep buying from him: sooner or later you will get burned too, and we will all laugh at you and say, "I told you so."

Yeah ive boughten some stuff from him before.
Again dont talk to him.
Also he has a code like Yatons. His is: if it doesnt have both a picture of it up and running and say working 100% then its really broken. Theres no mystery to it like he makes it sound. You buy a green board will chips on it and maybe plastic case around it and he sends it to you. If he doesnt and you remind him after a couple emails with turrets rantings enclosed he usually makes good and admits "Yeah my fault ive forgot to send it out a couple weeks ago." Just dont be annoying like some people and email him saying "Hi I sent payment yesterday, you send yet? Tracking #?" I think somebody on this board did that once and he was like "What are you my fucking babysitter?" But yeah these people are annoying. I only half way blame him. I tell them I sent out today and to get a life.

Did you get what was pictured in the auction?
Yes channelmaniac is a very good person to send broken stuff to.

If you read through his feedback you will see that apparently someone thought they had give him the feedback slip by waiting until the last possible moment to post a Neutral so he could not respond with the same or worse.

What did he do?

He watched for that buyer to eventually post their own auction and he won it so he could post a negative, wasn't me but someone must have taken a 50.00 fuckin similar to the one I did last month from him.

LEFT HIM NUETRAL SO HE PURPOSELY BUYS ITEM FROM ME TO GET ME BACK WITH NEG !!!! Seller: cgos2 ( 653) Nov-04-06 21:04

Busted ass junk??? I never had that problem with him. Everything is always as described, however, reading the FULL item description tends to be difficult for lots of people on ebay.

As far as the feedback, that's pretty funny. I wouldn't have wasted the money just so I could mess with someones feedback, but it's funny that he tried.

Being a noob and not reading these Anti-Bill threads, I bought 2 carts from him (SS2 & BB Stars 2). Price was right. carts arrived in 2 days, they appear to be okay to me (maybe they're boots?). Shipping was a little high.

Seems like all the issues with Bill come when trying to communicate with him. I'll reserve judgment for now.

actually

ive bought lots of stuff from him, and one thing i can say is he doesnt sell boots. when i used to buy from him, when i asked him for some of the newer games he was honest and said they werent available in the stuff he was getting in his area. He didnt just pull out the eprom programmer like some other sellers do, wich was nice to realize about bill.

Like whats already been stated we all had numerous transactions with bill until he burned us, in most cases years of dealings. A matter of time my friend, just time.

And when he does burn you, don't expect any sympathy from the rest of us. We are just going to laugh and say, "I told you so."

I understand both sides of the argument here but I have bought some really rare and hard to find stuff from him for cheap. Straight up; E-bay is always a risk, you just have to justify if the risk outweighs the benefits for shopping on there. Case in point, a nanao MS8 monitor chassis from bill recently...chances of getting that anywhere else for the price I did......zero.

If I get burnt by him oh well, I'll just consider it a good run I had with him while it lasted. Until then though, I cant even front, I check his auctions regularly.
