Metal Slug 2 Hella Slowdown ?

I just got a Metal Slug 2 MVS cart from a buddy of mine that works at a local cade , I put it in my rig and it seems to have a ton , I mean a TON of slowdown . I used to have Slug 1 for the MVS and it didnt seem this slow .

Is this normal ?

I never played it personally but the slowdown is a common complaint against Metal Slug 2, and I believe it's why they released Metal Slug X; it corrected the slowdown but was mostly the same game.

my slug 2 cart had a lot of slowdown thought it was faulty but i am reassured now it is not faulty :) :)

yea, its only problem with metal slug 2. If you play it enough you dont care it anymore. I think its a bit better game still than slug 1 !!!

Slug 2 is still good for the fact that the aliens appear later and in less bulk.

But the slowdown is rampant.

It's also worthing noting that the slower pace of MS2 also makes it a touch easier than MSX.

There are more secrets in MSX. But MS2 has some cool secrets too.

Metal Slug 2 is alot easier than X.

The slowdown is not really an issue until you get to mission three. Just don't even try to play the game with two players. The slowdown becomes so bad that the game is unplayable. Still, in one player mode the game is alot of fun. I actually prefer playing Metal Slug 2 as oppossed to X in one player mode. The main reason for that is, you get the shotgun alot more in 2 than you do in X.

The shotgun rules! They really should give out that powerup alot more.

I just got done beating the game just to make sure I wasn't smoking crack. The first two levels play just fine with small traces of slowdown whenever the action gets hectic. When mission three starts thats when the heavy slowdowns comes in and doesn't let up until you complete the game.

Wouldn't that be crazy if there were different versions of Metal Slug 2 (outside of the jap, us, cd, and mvs)? By the way, I own the jap AES cart.

I was just curious...I own 2 but I haven't played X in a while. Do you get the airplane in Metal Slug X?

BTW, 1 player Metal SLug 2 rocks, but 2 player can get annoying. However, the slowdown can make it easier to dodge bullets.

Oh yeah, and I own Metal Slug 2 US MVS, and the slowdown is exactly as described by everyone else.

yes, in the 3rd level before the boss on the train (one of my favorite of the slug series).
