Got my first CPS2 game today along with the motherboard (actually two games). Its like having a small airport in the room, or 5 Xbox 360s lined up near each other. Pure NOIZE.

Is there a fix :P

PS. I'm talking about the fan

are you using a supergun or a cab? i never thought it was that bad once inside a cab (door closed obviously) and with the game sound going. you could always just not play it.

Do what I do when I hear my car make an odd noise....

Turn up the volume.

Play it in a cab, and you would never know it's that loud. But, I assume you're NOT playing in a cab to make this comment?

I've got an AvP and Darkstalkers and never really heard the noise of the fan over the volume.

put it in a wooden box. hook your supergun to that box and set your monitor on that box. then just buy a cab and burn all the other stuff.

You can also replace the fan with a quieter fan or do a PC style voltage mod on the current fan. Even in a cab, my CPS2 board was loud. My wife would complain about it when she was trying to watch TV. Lol women :eek_2:
I did a voltage mod on the fan with a simple resistor. Can barely hear it now.

:lolz: Nice way to look at it.

On topic though, yeah, they are pretty loud. I can hear mine in my Super Neo 29 pretty clearly, but it never is louder than the actual game I'm playing. Like Lagduf said though, if it's driving you crazy, it shouldn't be a big deal to just disconnect the fan.

Yay, will disconnect it. Maybe in summer when it hits 40 celcius, I'll reconnect it.

You can mod in silent PC fans on the CPS2. IIRC the fan runs on 12v, just get one thats the same size.

I've been meaning to do that for my Naomi, 246, CPS Q and CPS2... just haven't had the time. Those fans are all sooo loud.

when I fired up my CPS-2 for the fist time, my daughter thought I had the air conditioner running. She asked why I had the air conditioner running this time of the year. :lolz:
