That's a classy member right there. :eye: He's posting in the market and already bumping-up his own threads. There's a line between "making an effort to join the community and simultaneously using the market" and "dudez i luv dis shit hey u wan look my salez thred" crap--I'd just prefer to know where the delineation begins and ends.

What I will say is anyone buying things off a newb without either hard and fast references or, preferably, getting the newbie to ship first is probably boardline retarded.

The problem is that there was supposed to be a hard rule against 0 post members going straight to the market place. That was the whole point of the noob forum.

It was enforced for about a week and then everyone just stopped giving a shit.

I think it should be up to the buyer, personally -- if he wants to 'risk' it, fine.

thankfully I got here before those rules were enforced

It all makes sense, really, but the fact that there are certain rules in place and new members seem to not give a damn about them is bad enough to warrant a "what the hell is wrong with you?" message sent in their direction. Have some shame, man. That the moderators don't seem to enforce it is less a problem of punishing bad deeds than it is of propagating the belief that new members can join-up and not care about the rules, anyway.

Taking a look at the one who inspired this thread, anyone can see that not only did he take the time to take offence to this message, but didn't have enough of a conscience to bother himself to start talking in community threads in order to prove that he was more than a simple, leeching newbie. The fact that there's not even enough of a stigma with being a leech to deter people from doing it is cause for concern, at least for me.

Ya, whatever happened to the 100 post rule?

Have to say, I am new to these boards and wouldn't trust any of you with my cash, feedback or otherwise, but don't take it personally. I think people on this forum are too attached to their carts to sell at a reasonable price anyway, which is understandable. I am the sort of player/collector who NEVER sells, only buys.......
So while people who never play their games get bored and desperately resell on eBay for peanuts in what has become a buyers market, that's where I will be........
(100% for 5 years on ebay:D )

:tickled: The market forums tend to have goods that are very reasonably priced, especially when compared to the scammer-loving-greed-infested hell-hole that is ebay.

Also your post has nothing to do with this topic.

Yeah.

Yeah.

????? has nothing to do with this thread, what's the title of the thread then.....
think you will find as a new member I wouldn't trust anyone on this board with my cash, putting a different perspective on the untrustworthy noob scenario.
Trying to pull rank with your sub 200 post rating, give me a break:lolz:
As I stated 100% feedback on ebay as a buyer, never been scammed and always got a good deal, well below prices a collector would ask. If you choose to disbelieve me, fine..........Why would that bother me?

Did you read the thread or just the title? This thread is about market forum moderation, not whether or not you would buy something from the market forums.

Jeezus.

...

Also, in a half-hearted attempt to be somewhat on-topic I would like to say that while I personally agree that the market forums could use a tad bit more moderation, I like how Wasabi worded his take on market-forum moderation in this thread:

Wasabi said:
I'm against the rules being anything more than guidelines, enforced capriciously and arbitrarily by benevolent dictators.

Let's be honest with ourselves: hard and fast rules do not mix with these (rather easy-going) forums.

Also, I think a 100-post rule kind of encourages the market-forum whores to spam (although zero-post sellers are bad, too). I would be all for a restriction based on join date (i.e. you can only sell if you've been here a month, six months, whatever).
