From what I understand Crimson Skies didn't work on 360 (or maybe the LIVE games didn't?)

But now you can DL the whole thing (over 4 gigs btw ) in marketplace, then do a couple auto updates, update the new content (planes and maps) and bingo- Crimson Skies (one of my fave online games ever) is back and ready to rock and roll.

C'mon guys, I know a bunch of us loved this game to death. And if you're like me, you haven't played it in a couple of years.

No way. The original worked, and on LIVE. It's like $5 used anywhere.

Yup, I loaded up everything on my 360 when I got the game and NOBODY was playing it online. It's a real shame because I loved mowing people down in my Dust Devil.

Hopefully now that it's downloadable, people will play it.

And I agree with Loopz. DON'T DOWNLOAD IT. Save your money. Go to GameStop/EB and buy it there. The game came with XBox Live kits so the game is next to nothing there. Even though people are all hardcore about getting used games, I'd rather get that for 5 bucks and save the room on my hard drive.

I have the original, but only have the first X-Box. I have never subscribed to Live! because I was unsure as to what my lag would be from up in Alaska. If I did get X-Box Live! for my existing X-Box, would I be able to play against you guys on your X-Box360s?

I used to love Crimson Skies. LOVED it. I've been keeping my fingers crossed for a sequel for years now. I never though about running the original on my 360 though, every Xbox1 game I've run upscales to 1080i and looks blurry as hell to me. Halo 2 gave me a headache.

Yeah, Crimson Skies is one of the former FASA properties I would love to see get some more video game love. Especially now that they have a PC iteration of X-Box Live, which I believe lets PC players and X-Box360 players play with each other, doesn't it? I believe that is what I read on the Shadowrun box.

If you wasted your cash on Vista and pay your yearly MS tax, then yes, about 5 games are Windows-360 crossplatform online. And all of the FPSs are handicapped to hell on the PC (lol, of course KB+M isn't better...).

Yeah, I haven't purchased Vista. It came on a laptop I bought and I am seriously considering wiping it out and installing Windows XP Pro.

I like the idea of being able to play against people that have the console version of a game I have for PC, but not enough (yet) that I would want to spend money on it for only a few games. I do want to try Shadowrun eventually, though. I loved some of the funky mods for Counter-Strike, and that is what it reminds me of.

It is a far cry from the console-style RPG of Shadowrun that I designed as a dream project, though. :( Could also be done as an MMORPG.

I don't consider $50.00 a year (that is how much X-Box Live! is, right?) terribly overbearing for a good service, though. It is just that PC side, there are a lot of free messenger/game matching services already. Hell, skip five or six trips through a restaurant drive-through and you have lost a few pounds and paid for your year of service.

I would love to get a game going with everyone in here.
CS is still, hands down, my fave XBox title, with Halo 1 right behind it.

Set up a nightly match up and I'll try my best to make it. This is the busiest shopping week so I only have Tuesday and Thursday off. Rest of those days I'm eight plus hours, so unwinding with a good CS game will do me good.

I just need to get some practice in. I was an animal with the Dust Devil. I don't care how weak the thing was rated. If I get behind you with that Gatling Gun, you're dead.

If I remember correctly, you were hands down the biggest CS badass I ever played with from NG.com. I'd go so far to say you had some of the highest kills I think I had ever seen. I'm pretty sure it was you.

VoodooPeople it is. Come get some!

Speaking of which, did you buy VF5 for 360? The Live play is pretty dope.

Not yet, but soon. The one awful, dumbass caveat I have for playing with my NG.com peepz is that I have NO MIC.. sucks, yeah. I may be correcting this within a week or two- but if I challenge you, and I don't chat back- it's a'cause I have no mic.

PS" Loopz is going down!!!

LOOPZ = dead man :)

Muwahahahaha

(PSS: you will slaughter me!)

Figures, I'm feeling under the weather so when I felt alright I went and downloaded EVERYTHING again so I could play CS online again.

I hit Optimatch and found a 10 player dogfight with 8 players. Huzzah! Well...the host of the game was a woman (who sounded like a kid) saying stuff like "It's good they caught the infection in time, I was in the hospital...I got the Xbox in the room with me...." Then they complained about all the newbies then I finally dropped.

I did get into a four player team dogfight and I ended up doing all the work and got five kills and they only shot me down once. I just need to re-learn all of the right stick moves again and I'll be in business.

I also wish they'd import some of the 360 features into the games, but that's another story. (I want my custom soundtracks for Burnout!!)

UPDATE: Not many people playing this mofo online apparently. Last night I found only one match I could enter- and me and the guy who started it were the only ones in it.

However, if you glorious bastards want to arrange an NG.com Crimson Skies marathon match- I am IN.

I might even go buy yet another mic. (It'd be my 4th) Loopz is a dead man! Ghost Dog a corpse! Bring the noise bitches! Y'all goin down!
