Ok, at first I thought the crackly sound was due to a damged speaker in my cab, but 1 of my 3 six slots works absolutley fine, so that cant be it. One board is crackly in every slot, the third is crackly in the first slot, but has no sound at all from the other 5 slots.

I have done a search and the subject of replacing caps seems to come up quite a lot,
is this what I need to do? I dont actually know what capacitors look like, are they located on both boards or just one? Are they generic parts that could be obtained from somewhere such as maplins? How many per mother board?

As you can see, I am in a bit of a state and any advice (or pics!:help: ) would be more than welcome!

If ya don't know... you might not have the soldering skills to do it justice.

Given you're in the land of the bloody limeys you should give ChaoticJelly a shout.

The caps aren't too bad to replace. It takes time and patience. The hard part is that there are a couple of caps that are hard to desolder due to large ground traces. It takes a lot of heat to remove those few.

Thanks for the reply mate, are you therefore saying that its this whole 'caps' issue that I am looking at? I happened to be extremely skilled (and modest) when it comes to soldering, point me in the right direction with where to solder and what I need to replace and I am sure I can take care of the rest.

I would be seriously greatful!
