ok here i go:
plug out your neo geo pad and look at the end of
the cable on the connector.
there are 15 pins/holes, the count starts from up-right to
down-left.
1=common
2=nc(not used)
3=select
4=D button
5=B button
6=right
7=down
8=nc
9=D button(again)
10=nc
11=start
12=C button
13=A button
14=left
15=up
so far so good..
now for the saturn pad:
inside there is one single smd chip with 24 marked pins.
you only must solder the neo geo cable directly on the pins of the chip.
here's the instruction:
(the used buttons from the saturn pad are A,B,X,Y,L,R(or start, if you want)

4 to 6
7 to 1
12 to 13
6 to 4
5 to 10
15 to 3
13 to 11
14 to 2
3 to 5 ( or 14 start for start)
11 to 7
and finally
look at the top right of the saturn pad, there are 9 solder
points, this points are holding, and connecting, the original
saturn pad cable, wich you should desolder first, in order
to have more space for the neo geo cable.
now connect pin 1 from the neo cable to the first/highest of these
solder points(this is for the +5v) and....
now you have finished you mod,put the screws back in the pad case
and enjoy your new pad!
