I have a 2 slot that give me this when I power up....

Backup RAM error

address
00D00000

write
AAAA

read
ABAA

Does this mean I have to replace the cxk-5814 chips? I tried to get as much info as I could from other posts but I'm still a little confused. Thanks for any help.

No.

The CXK-5814 SRAM chips are one of the 3 sets of Video RAM.

You want the 62256 type surface mount SRAM ICs. The ones powered by the battery are the ones you want to look at.

Since the error starts at the base memory location (00D00000) it could either be a bad chip or a bad trace on the board. Grab a pinout of the SRAM IC and check the data lines for continuity. If memory serves me correctly they are:

D0 - Pin 11
D1 - Pin 12
D2 - Pin 13
D3 - Pin 15
D4 - Pin 16
D5 - Pin 17
D6 - Pin 18
D7 - Pin 19

Those data lines tie into the data lines on the CPU and on the Work RAM. If you are missing continuity on one of the lines then you'll need to patch it. If they are all good then one of the surface mount RAM chips needs replacing.

I can do that service for you but I'm not taking any new repairs on until the week of 12/16 due to stuff going on at work.

OK...

Replaced the upper Backup RAM IC. Twice. First replacement chip turned out to be faulty. Second one went in with no errors.

I cleaned the corner of the board where the backup battery is and replaced the bad backup battery. The old one had started leaking.
