this member seems to like harassing me via pm on numerous occasions. So today I got this pm:

So looking at the spelling of "u" he must be real young or mentally disturbed or whatever. But I would appreciate it if somebody would stop this nonsense.

Geez, he's been gone since forever. One of the first things I remember reading on n-g was his feud with Big Bear, then he disappeared. Don't call it a comeback!

Rugel2000 is a straight up honest guy. I have done some deals with him in person and he was ace. He is in his late twenties or early thirties can't remember exactly. No problems with him here.

It seems that the best way to handle this is, if he continues to harass people with PMs, to simply remove his ability to PM (which we can do) rather than an outright ban.

But your Username is not any of those things, and the board allows for spaces in creating a Username.

I would also argue that since "Shut up" is rooted in the literal act of enclosing something upon itself (i.e.- "The abandoned storefront was shut up with boards.") and "Shutup!" is more an informal colloquialism to imply someone should stop talking, that the absence of a space in typing it is a moot point.

I'm not TRYING to be a dick here, but if you're going to argue language...

If you are going to validate the use of Shutup! as a colloquialism, then you can't really justify that there is anything 'wrong' with someone having tony_starks, as their internet message board user name.
