Hi...
Im still trying to make my Hyper64 board work with the Cga Vga Converter that i got from converters.tv. Converter needs 12v, so i connected it to the same psu that powering theboard and video connections to the converter as a combined sync mode. Picture apeerared on Lcd screen but very distorted and was giving me black screen on every 20-25 seconds. i tried every dipswitch settings that shown in the converter manual but they gave me same result. Afterreading the manual carefully, i found that on seperate sync mode converter may not support all boards sync timings.

Sync seperation is the solution, so i ordered the ISL59885 demo board from intersil. Sync seperator needs 5v so i wired everything and wire 5v to the sync seperator. It solved the black screen problem but with the noise on the top left part of the screen. I adjust the5v adjusting knob on the psu and this time noise jumped to bottom left side. Founding the center point solved all noises. Now you can ask what is the problem. The problem is when i restart the system the noise comes back,it needs adjusting voltage again. And the weird thing is when i turn the knob multimeter shows me different values for 12v either. To produce clear picture, i found that 5v needs to be at 5.35 and 12v at 12.70. Im planning to build supergun with that converter, its impossible to build before solving this. Any ideas????

Here is my Hybrid rev 1/2 mobo

Here is the converter...

Just be careful adjusting the voltage like that as some chips will burn after 5.4v.

Have you tried it on a different monitor to make sure its not that?

Try adding another ground somewhere close to the output.

Use separate PSU's for the MOBO and Converter.

after my research about the problem about my problem...i found that its the sync signal that makes the noise...i tried to use 74hc86 circuit to combine syncs again according to jrok information here and here...unfortunately it didnt work...i dont even get any picture...i beleive it is the circuit that jrok uses to build sync cleaners...i sent mail to him and ask if he can send it to me...he just ask me which country am i living, then nothing...now im trying to get one of the cleaners...can anyone point me any info about that...maybe i just built it wrong...thanks...

Problem solved after 1 year :) i was stupid that i didnt understand datasheet of sync seperator, the seperator can also work with 3.3v, so i just add 100ohms resistor to vcc in of the seperator and all the problems are solved now. Thank to anyone who tried to help me, i love you guys :) :) :) :P
