New untested pcb off e-bay

So I found an "untested but complete" pcb on e-bay to replace my identical (broken)2 slot. My question is can I damage anything on my cab by plugging in an untested board if there are problems with it?

Somethings are possible but highly unlikely. I would remove the cover on the 2 slot and visually inspect it first to make sure there isnt and cross connections that shouldnt be there. But thats just me.

For the love of god, check for a short betwwen ground & 5,12 volts first. I just got a broke 4 slot that had this short. But luckily I did not plug nit in first.
