I hate to be the one to make enemies (especially since the people who run the price guides also run the forums). But the price guides are outdated and need updating ASAP.
I know it is not easy, but I am sure that a collective effort could be made by members to help out where needed. I certainly am willing to help.
This is at least the third time I've seen somebody suggest this.
It's never going to happen.
Some people believe that the price guide also has far too much pull on the market. It's one thing when a price guide analyzes the market, but the Neo price guide has superseded it in some sense. I don't necessarily
totally agree with this viewpoint, but it does have at least some truth to it.
I actually don't think the price guide is THAT far out of whack. For example, it lists a fairly low price for the JP version of Magical Drop 3 MVS, while you will routinely see the game sell for much more on ebay (usually around $75-90) and even here in the forums. The other day I was on Yahoo Japan auctions and found that the price is just inflated in the US. I can't recall what the price was, but I remember it well because it fell nicely within the price-guide range.
If you're using ebay to judge the price guide's merit, then you will definately consider it to be lacking.
