Graphics problem

I just got my first cab and it needs a little tlc. It works pretty well but there is a graphics corruption on screen when using the 2nd slot(the first slot works fine). When the screen zooms back it sometimes appears fine but when is zooms in there are 7 or 8 pixel wide stripes on the screen. Sometimes the background looks fine and the sprites overlaying in have the corruption. Any ideas?

Your cartridge slot probably needs a good cleaning. The guy in a similar thread suggests a pink eraser, but you'd better make sure you get all the rubber out after so it doesn't get jammed in the contact teeth.

Or use alcohol, or a real contact cleaner (my fav) from Home Depot or whatever exists outside of Canada.

Yeah that was my first thought too. I cleaned out the slot with electronics cleaner and gently brushed it with a soft tooth brush. Maybe I'll try it again?

Yea that looks like a dirty cart problem..
Try the cart in the first slot..

Push it in and out of the slot a few tmes(cab off),it may make a better connection.

So I took it apart and gave it a good scrubbing. While I was cleaning I flipped the board over and noticed that the slot had been added/fixed to the board at some point and the soldering was not done very cleanly so I'm sure that is the problem. Should I look for a new board or for someone to fix it?
