Hey guys!

I'm new here and have a small agenda to get out of the way first. I picked up a MV-1 PCB with the z80 error and have everything I need to fix it with the exception of a schematic. I did some searching and understand it's all but available to most and was hoping someone had *something* pertaining to the audio subsystem in terms of a schematic even if crude.

That said I have all the other information I need to get it done, but would work more efficiently with a schematic. So please don't slam me or my abilities for asking. I don't need step by step help or suggestions or anything of the sort. I just need the schematic :D

Anyone?

Yawn...

Keep dreaming for the schematic...

As for the Z80 error, do you still get it with a cart plugged into the board? There is a version of the 1 slot that will give you that error if there is no cart plugged in.

Anything that causes a problem with the sounds subsystem will give you that error message: the 6116 SRAM, the Z80 CPU, the data buffers, or the YM2610 sound chip.

Problems after the digital-analog conversion don't cause a z80 error so that scheme is no use here.

Hey,

Thanks for the contributions guys. To RJ, I stated I didn't need step by step help due to my background in this area and I also did the usual searches and logged the subsystem information you provided already. I made that initial statement because I already did all that and just didn't want to waste anyones time which I'm sure you can appreciate.

I'm sure I'll get it all ironed out without the schematic but it sure is nice to have on certain occasions as it can save a lot of time. I appreciate the suggestions but if it's already been said, I pretty much already logged it. I guess I'm not your average user who pops in and asks before /searching :D

At any rate I seen several posts about testing without a cart. I don't have a cart yet but am going to borrow one this week before I take a stab at it. The trouble with most of those posts I found was no mention of them exact model, so I have no idea if I have that PCB or not. With any luck I do ;)

Thanks again guys!

If I remember right it's the MV-1c - the tiny one that gives the Z80 error without a cart installed.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong. ;)
