Are you using an official power supply? Is the screen just 1 color or just blank?

What are you using to connect it to the TV, AV cable or was the system modded?

Is it a Neo cable or one from a mega drive or something?

Oh, that IS an RF connector, not an av connector. Can you take a pic or describe your problem more? What game are you putting in? Hear any sound? If you see channel 3 but snowy and b/w, you may actually have the switch set the wrong way. Try channel 4.

You probably have a faulty RF. Try playing with the cord by bending and squeezing different sections of it to locate the break while you have the system on.

Oh it's also probably a good idea to tell us what power rating your system is (should be on the bottom), I think we need to know the current and voltage rating to make sure your power supply actually matches your system. There are two revisions that take different voltages.

Plug some headphones(cheap dollar store will suffice) into the headphone jack in front. That will determine if you have POWER to the unit or not. Make sure the volume control is on high.

You probably have a bad supply or the power jack is faulty. Wiggle the power cord plug in the jack abit and play with the cord while it's on. You may be able to determine that there is a loose or broken connection. If you yield no results, the adapter is most likely dead.

Good idea Big Bear on the headphone port.
Yeah no sound indicates the system actually isn't booting the game, regardless of the RF switch.

Can anyone verify that that serial number is in the right range for that power supply?

Also pitbull, if you happen to have/know how to use a multimeter you could check the voltage coming from the power supply to see if it's dead.

power socket could be loose.

But, if you're gonna play it on an HDTV you might as well upgrade the video ouput or something, RF on HDTV is rather yucky.

Send your system to someone who can fix it and upgrade it, too.

Jeff Kurtz (jmkurtz) is the man for the job. He fixed a dead AES power supply for me about a year ago.

I know this is a silly question but maybe you simply need to tune in the tv to the av signal.
