Getting a Japanese Neo Geo to work in the UK

I'm a n00b...anyway...

I have finally decided to get myself a Neo Geo, but while i am still waiting for it too arrive i have a question.

I have been told that i could use a Sega Mega Drive version 1 [aka sega Genesis] power lead on my Japanese Neo and it will work. I spoke to 3 other UK owners and they said it will work fine, as it is what they use.

So just to make sure i thought i should ask on this site as it is, well... a neogeo dedicated site .

So are there any UK neo owners that have done this on this Board?

hello shingo welcome to the world of the neo yes you can use a megadrive 1 power supply

Check to see if your machine takes a 5V or 9v PSU. You would not want to use a 9V Mega Drive PSU on a 5V Neo.

I will be sure to check what voltage the neo is before i slap a power supply into it

Although...While browsing the site, in the neostore they have a UK power supply for sale, is this another option i could take for the japanese neo?

Also make sure that your TV can display an NTSC signal (check the manual). Otherwise you'll only get a black and white picture, or no picture at all.
