I just bought a PGM mobo and I can't the video working on it properly. I'm running it through a very reliable supergun using s-video. When I turn on the power, the v-hold on my TV goes crazy. The sound works as do the controls, but I can't really tell what I'm looking at, so I can't navigate the test menu to see if this can be fixed through it. I did notice that the first two jamma connections are stripped, but they don't have lines leading to any of the chips so I don't think that's the problem. If any one has any suggestions or knows of an FAQ, I'll take any help you can give me.

Do you have a sync cleaner for your supergun? It sounds like you should get one. (They're available from jrok.)

That will probably fix it. You really need a sync cleaner in order to use a variety of boards on your supergun reliably. The cleaner should really just be built-in to the video encoder.

Also, in the meantime you can try using another TV.

I emailed jrok today. I'm also having trouble getting my atomiswave board to play, but I thinks it's pretty much f*****. Anyway, when I get the board I'll probably install it directly inside the supergun. Thanks for the advice.

As i recall:

I've never noticed a problem with using the SVHS Jrok and PGM PCB's.

That might be because the TV you were using was able to cope.

I actually have two mvs mobos (an MV1B and the original) and aside from one of them being slightly off center, their video is clear and stable. I've also run two different st-v mobos (one Japanese, one US) with no trouble and a Cps-3 board with no trouble. I run my Naomi through a VGA connection and I figured I could do the same with the Atomiswave, but my screen just flickers and goes blank. As far as the PGM goes, I sent Jrok payment for the sync cleaner tonight. As soon as I get it I'll post the results. BTW, thanks to everybody for helping me out. I'm new to the forum and it's nice to see such a since of community.

Jrok's sync cleaner did the trick. The PGM works perfectly as does a Combat Tribes board that I had given up on. Thanks for the tip.
