AES memory card

How do i 'configure' the memory card?
Is there a screen that should appear with blocks like on playstation?

I turn the neo on with nothing in it and get a blue screen, then i put in memory card and get a blue screen, then with game inserted and it just loads up asking to load memory card.

Basically i want to clear the memory card.

I just got a memory card and instructions are in Japanese.

Could the memory card reader in my neo be faulty?
Any help appreciated.

Hold ABCD and then turn on the Neo-Geo.
