I have a 6 slot mvs board and I noticed on the underside of the top board the red foam pad is comming loose. What exactly is its purpose, what can I use to replace it with, is it nessary for proper operation of the board? Thanks all.

The red foam is there to protect the capacitors underneath (on the lower board) from being scratched/ruined by the solder side of the upper board, which may happen especially when you insert carts.
As you can see it's not really necessary but it may help. You might just remove it, apply some glue and put it back in its place.

Thanks for the responce. I figured it was just for the caps protection. What glue should I use?
