Hey all,

Just joined the Neo Geo club with my first AES system... unfortunately, the guy I got it from did not have any games at all. I've got one coming in the mail but until then I'm not sure how to tell if this thing is working or not. What's supposed to happen when you boot up with no game in the system? It looks like it does a simple diagnostic and then goes to a blue screen - this sound right? The guy's got another Neo Geo if this one doesn't work; I'd just like to exchange it ASAP if I have to.

Thanks...

Jeff

The jumbled Atari 2600 looking graphics followed by the blue screen is normal Jeff. Just to be sure I tried this out after reading your posting, so you should have nothing to worry about. Since this is your first AES system I give you a big welcome. For you have taken a small step into a much bigger sub culture than you have realized, hope you stay the course, being a NEO Head can be a little daunting at times but we all know that 2-D is still the best and the NEO simply will not die! What other system can claim an active life after almost 13 years? Most systems have a five year run and then it's over..THE NEO WILL NOT DIE!
