Neobitz RGB question

Trying out the new encoder tonight, and wondering if I really have a problem. Composite worked fine, but RGB had two problems. One was a solid image, but an overbearing gray over the screen. The picutre was still sharp, and I could make out colors, but the gray didn't go away. Other problem was that the screen would have a smokey picture, little to no picture, and Neo logo screen was a tan. Nowhere near white at all.
Sound like any real problem? Or are my wires just not making a good enough connection? Keep in mind nothing has been soldered or crimped, Wires connections were twisted to hold and I was Output together with my hands.

I installed a neobitz board on my aes myself, I couldn't imagine holding all those wires in there without soldering them . As long as you have them connected to the right points, I'm sure it'll work fine once they have a good soldered connection.

Installed in an AES system? If so, is it the very first gen board? And, if so, then that board should use the sync cleaning circuit. If your Neobitz board came equipped with a switch in the top left corner, flip it. If not, let me know and I can send you the parts for the sync circuit and send you a pic of how the parts are mounted.

This is only needed on the first gen of the first gen boards, however, there is no clear indication of this board as some have been retorfitted with the SNK video board and some have not.

So, if SVideo and Composite look fine, this is probably your issue.

So just the component isnt working, did you use any resistors inline for the RGB signals?

Did you try the sync cleaner? Its the switch on the top left corner.

So what did you connect the board to AES, MVS?

The real problem I think is that you didnt solder any connections. Composite is easy to fix since it only has one ground but with component you need to make sure you ground all 3 connectors really well.

Solder the 3 connections and then test.

I figured the issue was really only in the ground. Thanks for the input, I'll find out when I finally buy some flux.

Most solder nowdays already have flux in them.
