Anybody have a source with the same physical size as what's on the MVS motherboard? I've only been able to find larger chips.

Nevermind. I guess I should have searched first. Looks like I can also use a CY7C128 in place.

be carefull with that, there maybe a pinout difference depending on manufacturer,(Cypress may be different?) I think it was MKL that pointed this out earlier, may be worth a PM.

Cy7C128, CXK-5814, 6116, etc... all have a standard pinout.

Just make sure to get the chip that has the right physical packaging (.300mil DIP) and the same or faster speed rating.

I ran out of the CY7C128s but have other chips that will sub right in.

it's the 256k ram from cypress (cy62256) that has a different pinout and can't be used as a replacement for the work/video/backup ram on the neo.

as for the package size of the 6116 used as the sound ram, it depends on the MVS model: on the MV1, MV2 (not MV2F), 4-slots and 6-slots you can use either a 300mil (slimmer) or a 600mil (fatter).
