Hello Techs,

I am looking for a VGA box that has progressive-scan RGB inputs that either ouputs 15 khz on the VGA cable or can be modded to do it. Basically, I want to use it with a J-PAC JAMMA adaptor so I can play my AES on my Super Neo 29 Candy Cab. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hold on... the AES already outputs 15khz interlaced. From what I see with the J-PAC, that's what needs to be input, no? You probably don't want progressive, because your candy cab monitor is interlaced, and all I think the J-PAC does is wire up some control pins and combine hsync+vsync from a vga cable into csync.

But if you want to run your aes in a candy cab, all you need is a spare jamma harness a 2.5mmx5.5mm power connector a din plug(8 pin?) for video and some spare neo extension cords for controls.

If you want to play Neo-Geo games in an arcade machine, why aren't you using an MVS board?

Um yeah,
I do have one, but I also have several AES titles that I would like to play on it as well. Sometimes it is hard when your competing for tv time with the wife & kids annoyed . I have unlimited access to my cabinet though. I modded my cabinet with extra buttons so I can play SF type games as well. I never even thought of being able to play my AES on my Cab until I saw this and I would like to try it out for myself.

Well then - the Neo outputs 15khz RGB. Your arcade monitor takes 15khz RGB. It's a match made in heaven!

Just buy a JAMMA fingerboard, wire up the appropriate video signals, and you'll be set. Controllers will be easy, because the Neo already has a 1-wire-per-switch stick pinout, and there'd be no need to hack up a controller pad.

Sound will have to be run through an AMP of some sort though.

Ok,

I figured on wiring up a small stereo amp, and I'm familiar with the JAMMA fingerboard wiring.

I'm going to get my AES modded with the Component RGB outputs, how would I wire that up to the fingerboard?

Just download the jammaor mvs pinout from the net. They're all over the place if you google a bit.

It does output a 15khz sync rgb signal, if you provide it with a 15khz(non-progressive) component signal.
